Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Open Pit Mine Worker to assist with the daily operations of an
open pit quarry. This role involves operating equipment, performing manual labor, assisting with material
extraction, and maintaining safe work conditions. The ideal candidate is physically capable, dependable, and
able to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with extraction and processing of rock, gravel, or other aggregate materials.
• Operate or assist with operation of quarry equipment such as loaders, excavators, drills, and crushers.
• Load materials into trucks and conveyors.
• Perform general labor tasks including shoveling, scaling rock, and clearing debris.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance issues to supervisors.
• Follow all mine safety regulations and site procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Work closely with team members to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous construction, mining, or heavy equipment experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work outdoors in dust, noise, and changing weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor.
• Strong attention to safety procedures.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Reports To: Concrete Operations Manager
A ready-mix concrete truck driver is responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of freshly batched concrete from the production plant to various residential and commercial construction sites. This role is a specialized driving position that requires not only expert vehicle operation but also a hands-on understanding of concrete properties and job site logistics.
Core Responsibilities
Concrete Delivery: Safely operate a heavy diesel truck (GVW over 26,000 lbs) equipped with a revolving mixer drum to transport concrete while maintaining it in a liquid state.
Quality Control: Adjust the concrete's consistency (slump) at the job site using water or admixtures as requested by the customer.
On-Site Operation: Maneuver the truck into tight or difficult positions at construction sites and operate controls to discharge concrete into forms, wheelbarrows, or pump trucks.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections. This includes cleaning the truck's exterior and drum after every delivery to prevent concrete from hardening.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Licensing: A valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with an air brake endorsement is necessary. CDL tuition assistance is provided to qualified candidates.
Certifications: Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug/alcohol screening to obtain a DOT medical card.
Education: A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Physical & Environmental Demands
Labor Intensive: The job requires lifting and attaching extension chutes weighing up to 60 lbs, climbing ladders to inspect the drum, and standing for long periods.
Weather Exposure: Drivers work outdoors in all conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain, often on uneven or muddy terrain.
Flexible Hours: Shifts often start early in the morning (e.g.5:00 AM or 6:00 AM) and may include weekends or overtime depending on customer demand. Part-time work can be arranged upon request.
Salary Expectations
Hourly Pay: Starting wages often range from $30-35 per hour, with experienced drivers earning up to $45 per hour.
